  • What time should I be there?

 

  • Why 30 minutes early?

 

We need you to be there at least 30 minutes, prior to the school's arrival time.  To find out school's arrival time, please contact the school.

It is important to have you there at least 30 minutes prior to the arrival of the students for several reasons.

  • We like to make sure you are there and ready.  If a shop is uncovered by a parent or volunteer we may need to move a volunteer from another shop in there to ensure it is covered.  30 minutes will allow us time to find a replacement and train them on the specifics of that shop.

  • We like to update all our volunteers if a change has occurred in the schedule or if any special circumstances exist within the shop you are responsible for covering.

  • Give you time for last minute reminders and answer any last questions.

  • What do I need to bring?

  • Please bring a sack lunch, that does not require refrigeration, or a microwave.

  • Remember to bring the friendly letter for your child.

  • If possible, bring any of the requested items needed this month.

  • What type of clothing should I wear?

Business casual is fine and wear some comfortable shoes, you will be on your feet for much of the day.  Also, our facility may be very warm or very chilly, as it is difficult to maintain air temperature in such a large building.  If you dress in layers you will likely be more comfortable.

  • How long will I be there?

Most JA BizTown™ days last 5 hours, but each school is different, due to bus scheduling and other issues.  Check with your school to find out more about the length of the visit.

  • Where do I park?

We have over 200 parking spots at our facility, so parking should be easy.
