Tips when assisting students
1. Allow Children to do their own work. Observe and ask questions to help them achieve desired results. If you do their work, they will let you. There is a fine line between doing too much for the student and not doing enough.
2. Provide positive reinforcement and a cheerful attitude. Enthusiasm and encouragement go a long way. Keep in mind nothing is a disaster. Mistakes in JA BizTown™ are opportunities to learn. If a problem occurs, stay positive, and work with the student and JA staff to fix the issue.
3. If you don't know, ask. The JA staff members assisting with the JA BizTown™ simulation are there to help. If a child doesn't understand his/her directions, try to read through it and then attempt to explain it to them. If you're unsure of the directions yourself, just ask a JA staff member.
